| Joni Heye joniheye@gmail.com I moved to College Station from Dallas about a year ago and have been part of USAFit BCS ever since! I have been a dedicated runner for the past 4 years and have completed 3 marathons and 4 half marathons. I haven’t always been a runner but once I gave it a chance I quickly fell in love! During the day I’m an elementary teacher. On the side, I have recently become a Certified Running Coach (RRCA) and a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM). I have been married for 4 years to Randall and we have one fury child, Boogers the English Bulldog. I have a deep passion for running and love helping others accomplish their running goals! I can’t wait to join you on your running journey! We can do this together...let the training begin! | ||

Shelley Bowman Program Social Chair I can’t believe I can call myself a runner – three years ago, I weighed 100 pounds more than I do now. Through diet and exercise I lost the weight, and then discovered that I, a former couch potato to the max, liked to run! So I began running 5K’s, and then I cheered on one of my trainers as he finished a half marathon, where he was given a medal…and I wanted one! Apparently you have to run either a half or full marathon to earn a medal, so I set out to do just that. Luckily for me, I found USAFit last August, and trained with them for the Galveston Seawall Half Marathon, where, I am proud to say, I earned my first medal! I had an absolute blast with my running club – there is nothing like the camaraderie of a shared goal, where everyone is trying their hardest, to make you want to keep coming back, week after week. Somehow we made running look fun enough that my husband, Jeff, even joined USAFit for our Spring 10K training, and he is now working toward his first half marathon! We’ve been married for 27 years and have two sons who had the nerve to grow up and move out, so we have plenty of time for running now. We share our house with Paco the Wonder Dog, and our two cats, Kip and Henry. I’m looking forward to planning many fun social events for the running club, where we can all get to know each other better!

| Dale Picha dale@csgarden.com Head Coach Howdy USAFit Runners. I am thrilled to be part of my 8th season with the USAFit Training Program. Thanks to this program, I have completed five marathons and several half marathons. I am by no means a running expert, so if I can do it, you certainly can as well! I am excited about our White Rock training program this summer/fall. We will have some great runs together, and together, we will all finish a Half Marathon! I have been a runner for the past 8 years, and I learn so much from this program. So gear up, and let’s have fun! | ||
![]() | Erica Maier ericarmaier@gmail.com Assistant Coach It is hard to believe I have only been running since July 2009. After being challenged by a friend to train for the Rock n Roll-San Antonio Half Marathon, I was quickly bitten by the running bug. Since then, I have completed 1 marathon (the New York City Marathon!!), four half marathons and several smaller races. I recently left my corporate job to focus on my own Mary Kay business, which affords me the opportunity to work on my ultimate dream --- screenwriting! Fun! My husband Scott and I have been married over 10 years, and no, he is not a runner at all! Opposites attract, right?! Anyway, I am excited about the upcoming USAFit running season and look forward to meeting all the new members! The accountability and encouragement you will find with USAFit is priceless! I challenge you to join us this season! You will be in for a great ride!

A.J. Reese aj@oldhamgoodwin.com Head Coach I will never forget when I started running: I had hit my peak weight and was 2 pounds away from being obese. I started running and running and never looked back. I am very much a beginner and have run 4 half marathons, and in 2011 my goal is to stay injury free and complete a full marathon in the fall. On a personal note, my wife, Brandi, and I have 2 old dogs and 2 young cats that are constant entertainment. Beyond that I am a big nerd and my primary interests are real estate and legal tax deductions; it is no coincidence that is also the area I work as a Real Estate Broker and CPA. I am really excited about this program and the opportunity to see how it changes you too.
| Jessica Mayer jessica.mayer49@yahoo.com Assistant Coach I moved to College Station from the Houston area less than a year ago. I always wanted to run a marathon but never made time. I signed up for USAFit the first weekend I moved here and decided to make the commitment. Since then I have completed the Austin Marathon and the Dallas Rock n Roll Half Marathon. I love the accountability and support USAFit provides. I have been a registered nurse the past five years and work in the home health care field. I live in College Station with my fiance Bryce and my two dogs Shiner and Rocky. I usually make all my weekly runs with Shiner-he\'s a natural. I am very excited about this season and look forward to encouraging others to achieve their goals! | ||
